Kuala lumpur: Bursa Malaysia stayed in positive territory at mid-afternoon, supported by buying activities in selected heavyweights led by consumer products and services, and healthcare counters. At 3 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 2.54 points to 1,646.26 from Monday’s close of 1,643.72. The index had opened 0.95 of a point lower at 1,642.77.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, market breadth was negative, with decliners outnumbering gainers 718 to 312. A further 462 stocks were unchanged, 1,284 untraded, and 12 suspended. Turnover amounted to 1.80 billion shares valued at RM1.23 billion. Among heavyweights, 99 Speed Mart gained 10 sen to RM3.65, IHH Healthcare grew five sen to RM8.75, Petronas Gas added 22 sen to RM17.88, while Maybank and CIMB were flat at RM10.36 and RM7.93, respectively.
On the most active list, Tanco slipped two sen to RM1.16, Velesto slid half-a-sen to 28 sen, Mega Fortris dropped two sen to 78 sen, Zetrix AI and Perak Transit each lost one sen to 81.5 sen and 29 sen. Besides Petronas Gas, other top gainers included Nestle, which climbed 80 sen to RM113.10, Dutch Lady Milk Industries rose 50 sen to RM30.62, Fraser and Neave gained 24 sen to RM35.30, and Hong Leong Bank added 16 sen to RM21.84.
