Orkim Berhad is acquiring a new IMO Type II oil and chemical tanker for approximately RM94.9 million as the marine logistics company continues to expand and modernise its fleet to capture growing demand for petroleum and chemical cargo transportation.
The public listed firms said its wholly owned subsidiary had signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Hong Kong-based Allcontinents International Shipping Limited to acquire the vessel, MT Rong Yao Wu Zhou, for RMB157 million. Based on Bank Negara Malaysia’s exchange rate as at July 21, the purchase price is equivalent to approximately RM94.88 million and will be fully settled in cash….
