CPP tankers are specialised vessels to transport refined petroleum products. These tankers feature coated tanks for corrosion prevention, segregated compartments to enhance safety and, where required, allow simultaneous transportation of multiple products. In addition, the Group’s CPP tankers’ shallow draft significantly enhances market access by allowing the Group to serve a wider range of ports, jetties, and terminals in Malaysia.

Orkim Berhad newer CPP tankers such as the 5 CPP tankers that were delivered in 2021 and the 2CPP tankers under construction, are equipped with enhanced safety features such as inert gas system to prevent cargo tank fires and explosions. These tankers also come with eco-friendly engines that consume lesser fuel, have lower carbon emissions and comply with the IMO Tier3 nitrogen oxide emissions standard. These tankers are also fitted with a ballast water treatment system, which serve to protect the environment by preventing the introduction of non-native species to the coastal ecosystem through ballast water discharge.

The Group’s fleet of CPP tankers mainly support transportation between domestic ports along coastal routes within Malaysia and across neighbouring Asian countries, mainly Singapore. The Group’s CPP tanker fleet had collectively transported 13.7 million tonnes of refined petroleum products during the Financial Years Under Review
