KUALA LUMPUR: Orkim Bhd’s wholly-owned Orkim Leader Sdn Bhd has received extensions to its consecutive voyage charter (CVC) contracts with Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Orkim said the parties had agreed to extend the existing contracts by one year, with the extended charter period for Orkim Power commencing on Feb 1, 2026, and for Orkim Leader beginning on March 1, 2026.

The contracts also grant the charterers an option to further extend the agreements for an additional year.

“Subject to the exercise of this option, the charter for Orkim Power may be extended until Jan 31, 2028, while the charter for Orkim Leader may run until Feb 28, 2028,” it said.

Orkim chief executive officer Captain Cheah Sin Bi said the extensions underscore the company’s proven operational reliability and reinforce its strong customer relationships with key energy players.
