It is the policy of Orkim to define and document a Safety Management System that realistically build on the following principles:-

  • To operate in a manner that protects the safety of the company managed vessels and the natural environment.
  • To provide safe practices in vessel operations and to maintain a safe working environment in the prevention of human injury or loss of life.
  • To assess and establish appropriate safeguards against all identified risks.
  • To take into consideration and to comply with mandatory rules and regulations, Guidelines and Standards recommended by IMO, Classification Society and Maritime Industry Organization concerning spills, emissions and waste.
  • To continuously improve safety management skills of personnel ashore and aboard ships, including preparing for emergencies related both to safety and environmental protection.
  • To create a healthy working environment.
  • To ensure safety comes first in all operations.
