Orkim Sdn Bhd (Orkim) would like to confirm that one of the crew members on board vessel has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital. The rest of the crew on board the vessel have been under quarantine since 23rd September 2020, in accordance with the safety and health guidelines on COVID-19.
As a precautionary measure, Orkim has conducted a thorough sterilisation and disinfection on board and its Head Office, including its common facilities today. The Company has also conducted contact tracing measure in order to identify and inform individuals who had direct contact with the crew to undergo medical screening and home quarantine.
Orkim’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mohamad Nassir Mohd Kassim said, “Orkim wishes to assure its clients and public at large that there is no disruption of service. The Company has a sound business continuity plan to ensure that its operations are not affected by such eventualities. All necessary precautions and awareness have been done consistently by the Company since the outbreak. We would also like to assure our clients that our premises and vessels adhere to all mandatory Requirements and Safe Practices to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19”.
